Akshay Wattal

Akshay Wattal is a seasoned professional in security engineering and technical program management, currently serving as the Head of Security Engineering at Ripple since February 2022, where responsibilities include overseeing Infrastructure Security, Security Operations, Product Security, and Technical Program Management. Prior to Ripple, Akshay was with Salesforce, leading security assurance initiatives and managing a team of Technical Program Managers and security consultants. Akshay's experience also includes significant roles at Walmart eCommerce, where leadership of security programs was pivotal, as well as earlier positions at TIBCO and Red Hat that involved solution design and development. Akshay holds advanced degrees in Cybersecurity from Stanford University and a Master's in Computer Software Engineering from San Jose State University, complemented by a Bachelor's in Information Technology from Pune Institute of Computer Technology and Savitribai Phule Pune University.
