Jackie Carlson is the Director of People at RippleMatch. Jackie has over three years of experience in building, training, coaching, and supervising HR teams with a culture-first focus. Before joining RippleMatch, Jackie was the People Team Manager at OppLoans from July 2016 to December 2019. At OppLoans, Jackie was responsible for research, design, and delivery of targeted solutions based on key trends and competitive analyses of hyper growth startups needing to scale. Jackie also handled a multitude of sensitive issues across multiple business groups to assist employees and managers in resolving issues and grievances while aligning consistently with core values of the firm. Jackie also led and facilitated the performance management cycle by partnering with business managers to maximize employee satisfaction and performance.

During their time at OppLoans, Jackie also created a process to capture ‘voice of the employee’ and implemented holistic employee programs aligned with long-term business goals to drive high performance and operational excellence. Jackie also shaped and deployed various diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement initiatives (e.g., employee recognition tied to firm’s core values, learning & development programs, employee perks, communities, lunch & learns). As a result of these initiatives, Jackie was able to improve employee retention rate by 5%.

In addition to their work with diversity, inclusion, and engagement initiatives, Jackie also led and facilitated the modernization of HR software systems (e.g., Namely HRIS, Namely Payroll, Google Hire). Jackie also led refinement of employee benefits programs, platforms, and processes (e.g., medical, dental, vision, 401k, HSA, FSA, COBRA, disability) resulting in 214% increase in enrollments and engagement to date.

Before their work in HR software systems and benefits programs, Jackie built HR processes from the ground up to streamline resource management efforts (e.g., onboarding, offboarding, promotions, transfers).

Jackie Carlson's educational career began at Fruitport High School. Jackie then went on to Michigan State University where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Communications Arts & Sciences with a focus in Communication.
