Paul Hughes

Paul Hughes is a seasoned technology leader in the gaming industry, currently serving as the Head of Technology at Ripstone since January 2021, where Paul led programming for Netflix Games' The Queen's Gambit Chess. Paul also holds the position of Technical Director at Huge Technologies Ltd, emphasizing high-performance technology consultation and full rendering pipeline optimization. Prior to these roles, Paul was Head of Technology at Evidential Ltd., where Paul worked on cutting-edge VR and AR training simulations, and at TT Fusion, where Paul contributed to numerous successful LEGO video games. With earlier experiences including Chief Technology Officer at Gizmondo Studios and Warthog Plc, as well as foundational software engineering roles at Electronic Arts and OCEAN SOFTWARE, Paul boasts a diverse and extensive background in game development and technology optimization. Paul earned a BSc (Honours) in Psychology from The Open University.
