Artem Baranov has a diverse work experience in the field of information security and software development. Artem started their career in 2008 as a Software Developer at System Modeling and Analysis. From 2009 to 2013, they worked at Kaspersky Lab as a Malware Analyst, where they analyzed incoming feeds of suspicious files, detected and classified malicious files, and maintained AV databases. During this time, they also served as a Research Developer, inventing and implementing new ideas and methods for detecting and processing malicious files.
In 2013, Artem joined SEC Consult Group as an Information Security Consultant, where they conducted penetration testing and source code reviews for major banks and financial organizations in Europe and Russia. Artem also performed internal and external network security audits.
In 2015, Artem returned to Kaspersky Lab as a Senior Research Developer, focusing on penetration testing industrial companies globally. Artem identified and exploited vulnerabilities in industrial solutions and products, and developed a kernel-mode monitoring system for an industrial honeypot solution.
From 2017 to 2019, Artem worked at Opera Software AS as an Information Security Engineer, specializing in penetration testing, source code review, and network security audits of internal services and products.
Currently, Artem is employed at Riscure as a Senior Security Analyst, having held the position since July 2019. In this role, they are responsible for analyzing security risks and implementing effective measures to protect the organization's systems and data.
Artem Baranov completed their education in a field related to Information Technology. Artem attended Bauman Moscow State Technical University from 2006 to 2012, where they pursued a degree in Software Engineering and Computer Programming. Prior to that, they studied at Serpukhov Technical College from 2002 to 2006, also focusing on Software Engineering and Computer Programming.
In addition to their academic qualifications, Artem Baranov obtained two certifications from Offensive Security. In November 2014, they became an Offensive Security Certified Professional. Artem later achieved the Offensive Security Certified Expert certification in July 2015.
