Emily Banas is an experienced professional in the field of Decorative Arts and Design, currently serving as an Associate Curator at the RISD Museum since November 2015, where responsibilities include managing a collection of over 27,000 objects, conducting research, and planning exhibitions. Previously, Emily held various curatorial and conservation roles at esteemed institutions such as the Milwaukee Art Museum, Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute, and Smithsonian American Art Museum. Emily's educational background includes a Master of Arts in Decorative Arts, Design History, and Material Culture from Bard Graduate Center, along with degrees from Georgetown University and Sotheby's Institute of Art. This extensive experience and education underscore a strong expertise in curatorial practices, research, and the preservation of decorative arts.
