Sean Figgins

Sean Figgins has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades in various roles related to network security, IT management, and operations. Sean has held positions in companies such as Rise Broadband, National Auto Sport Assn., Charter Communications, Level 3 Communications, tw telecom, Adelphia Communications Corporation, Adelphia Business Solutions, Williams Communications, Petris Technology, and Phoenix Data Systems/Net.

At Rise Broadband, Figgins served as the Sr. Director - Security, IT & IS, where they managed the company's IT/IS department and developed IT support practices. Sean also held the role of Race Operations Officer, Rocky Mountain Region at National Auto Sport Assn., overseeing race operations in the area.

In their role as Principal Engineer, Network Security at Charter Communications, Figgins coordinated security projects and strategies, and supported the service provider network. At Level 3 Communications, they worked as Sr. Manager, Global Network Systems, leading a team and overseeing network systems and server deployments.

During their tenure at tw telecom, Figgins held multiple roles, including Manager, Security and Sr. Security Engineer. In these positions, they managed teams responsible for infrastructure security, designed and supported request systems, and evaluated security incidents and advisories for the service provider network.

At Adelphia Communications Corporation, Figgins served as Manager, Multi-Use Lab, Manager, Data Integration Lab, and Manager, Backbone Operations. Their responsibilities included designing and operating testing facilities, conducting certification testing, and managing technical support for a nation-wide IP network.

At Adelphia Business Solutions, Figgins worked as a Network Engineer, Backbone Design, and facilitated the design and implementation of a nation-wide IP network. Sean also managed department relocation and installation of network and server services.

In their role as Sr. Architect, IP Networks at Williams Communications, Figgins was involved in network architecture and evaluation of new technologies. Sean also worked as Senior Technical Supervisor, IP Network Services, leading a team responsible for network design and customer turnup. Additionally, they served as a Senior Technical Analyst, handling network design and implementation projects.

Earlier in their career, Figgins worked as Manager IT Networks at Petris Technology, where they designed and implemented network infrastructure, managed the Integration and Support Department, and maintained production systems. Sean also worked as an Escallations Engineer at Phoenix Data Systems/Net, focusing on network operations and customer support.

Throughout their career, Figgins has demonstrated expertise in IT/IS management, network security, network design and deployment, and project coordination.

Sean Figgins attended the University of Iowa from 1991 to 1996, where they studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Sean did not receive a degree in this field. In June 2012, they obtained an Amateur Radio License from the Federal Communications Commission.
