Michael Lauran

Michael Lauran is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in leadership and operational management within nonprofit organizations. As the Founder and COO of RISE since August 2013, Michael directs strategic initiatives and optimizes operational systems to further the organization's social mission. Previously, as Manager of Development at the Environmental Defense Fund, Michael led the planning of significant board meetings and developed engagement strategies for governing boards. In earlier roles, Michael managed program development at the American Red Cross, coordinated public health fellowship programs at the Population Council, and contributed to research efforts at the United Nations. Michael holds a Master's degree in International Social Policy from Columbia University and a Bachelor's degree in International Studies from the School for International Training.
