Bryce Thornton

Bryce Thornton has worked in a variety of positions in the technology field since 1999. Theirfirst role was as an IT Integrator for Marathon Oil Company, where they created and maintained mainframe programs using the Natural programming language, developed applications for the company intranet using Active Server Pages, VBScript & javascript and worked on the Data & Network Security team. In 2004, they moved to eSchool Consultants, where they were the Data Services Director. In this role, they developed a custom student information system (SIS) in PHP/MySQL, led the project to implement the Moodle learning management system (LMS) for their clients, maintained their linux servers, managed a team of PHP developers and implemented automated unit testing, integration testing, git usage, deployment standards, continuous integration, pair programming, virtual machine development environment, etc. In 2011, they founded OffsiteStatus, where they hosted status pages for SAAS companies, before being acquired. From 2012-2015, they held positions such as Web Development Manager at Highlights for Children and Engineering Manager at CoverMyMeds. In 2016, they moved to PriceSpider, where they held the roles of Vice President Of Engineering, Chief Technology Officer and Senior Director Of Engineering. In 2021, they joined Rise Science as their Lead Backend Engineer, where they manage, monitors, scales, and maintains all aspects of their backend code/infrastructure.

Bryce Thornton completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Bowling Green State University and graduated from Teays Valley High School.
