Derek Gatta has a diverse work experience in the field of dentistry. Derek started their career in 2009 as a General Dentist in the US Navy. During their time in the navy, they served as a General Dentist and later as a Prosthodontic Resident. In 2014, they became the Department Head, where they managed clinic operations and collaborated with other department heads in developing healthcare policies. In 2016, Derek co-founded RiseWell, a dental care company. Derek held the position of Co-Founder until 2019. From 2017 to 2019, they worked as a Prosthodontist at Sage Dental. Currently, Derek works at Max & Gatta PLLC as a Partner Prosthodontist.
Derek Gatta's education history includes a range of degrees and certifications. Derek started their education at Portsmouth Abbey School, where they received their High School Diploma in 1999. Derek then attended Vanderbilt University from 1999 to 2003, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Neuroscience.
After completing their undergraduate studies, Derek attended Barry University from 2003 to 2005, where they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) in Biomedical Sciences, with a focus on General Biomedical Sciences. Derek then enrolled in Nova Southeastern University from 2005 to 2009, where they obtained a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree, specializing in Dentistry.
Derek continued their education at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton from 2009 to 2010, completing a General Practice Residency (GPR). Subsequently, they attended the Navy Postgraduate Dental School from 2011 to 2014, completing a Master of Science in Oral Biology (M.S.) through the Prosthodontics Residency Program.
In addition to their degrees, Derek has obtained various certifications. Derek became a Board Certified Prosthodontist (Diplomate) through the American Board of Prosthodontics in February 2015. Derek also obtained a Florida Dental License from the Florida Department of Health in June 2009.
