Matthew Porter

Matthew Porter is the Director at Rising Ground. Matthew has over twenty years of experience in the financial industry, including their previous position as Head of AEEM Legal at AIG Investments from January 2016 to December 2021. In this role, they were responsible for all legal matters related to clients' alternative investment portfolios, including private equity, venture capital, and hedge funds. Matthew also advised Board members, senior management, and portfolio managers on compliance with investment regulations, corporate governance best practices, affiliate transfers, servicing arrangements, and vendor contracts.

Porter has a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. Matthew is admitted to practice law in New York and Washington, D.C.

Matthew Porter attended McQuaid Jesuit for their high school education. Matthew then went on to study political science at Columbia University in the City of New York. After completing their undergraduate degree, they attended law school at New York University School of Law.
