Tess Dore

Tess Dore, Ph.D., is a skilled Cryptography Research Engineer currently working at Ritual since April 2025, engaging in interdisciplinary projects involving data science, cryptography, economics, AI, and mechanism design, with a focus on Rust engineering for cryptographic systems. Previously, Tess served as a Cryptography Research Engineer at Lita, contributing to the Valida zkVM, and as a Cryptographer at Nexus, where innovative designs for zero-knowledge virtual machines were developed. Additional experience includes a role as a Cryptographic Engineer at MobileCoin, where software components with cryptographic elements were designed and documented, and a stint as a Research Consultant examining zk-STARKs. Tess holds a PhD in Mathematics and Computer Science from Stanford University, where the doctoral thesis focused on a novel Identity-Based Encryption scheme, and a BA in Mathematics from Princeton University.
