Dr. Shirish Malvankar

Dr. Shirish Malvankar has a diverse and extensive work experience in the medical field. Dr. Shirish is currently serving as the Chief Mentor - Medical Affairs at Rivaara Labs since December 2022. Prior to this, they founded Lotus Microbiologycs in 2017 and worked as the Founder - Medical Director. In 2018, they also contributed to the field as the Chairman & Founder Member of the Society of Clinical Microbiologists. Starting from 2006, Dr. Malvankar has been involved with NABL (National Accreditation Board for Laboratories) as a Lead Assessor. Dr. Shirish has also worked as an independent consultant for Invitro Diagnostics since April 2015 and as a Medical Advisor at Astraa Biomedicals, India's first diagnostic company specializing in infectious disease products since the same time. In addition, they have served as the Director Laboratory Operations at Tru Pathlabs India Pvt. Ltd. from September 2021 to January 2023, and as a Consultant Microbiologist at Millennium Special Lab Pvt. Ltd. from May 2020 to December 2021. Dr. Malvankar has also worked as the Medical Director at Sight Diagnostics Ltd, a medical device company developing innovative diagnostic technology for blood diseases, from April 2015 to February 2018. Prior to that, they served as the Director: Laboratory Operations at Pyramid Referral Laboratories (P) Ltd from February 2009 to March 2015.

Dr. Shirish Malvankar has an extensive education history. Dr. Shirish started their education at St. John The Baptist High School in Thane, where they received their Secondary School Certification (SSC) in 1988, with a focus on all subjects. Following this, they attended V. G. Vaze College, Mulund, Mumbai, under Kelkar Education Trust, and earned their Higher Secondary School Certification (HSC) in 1990, again focusing on all subjects.

In pursuit of their medical career, Dr. Malvankar joined T. N. Medical College & Nair Hospital. From 1990 to 1995, they completed their Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), specializing in the field of Medicine. Driven by a commitment to further their knowledge, they continued their studies at the same institution and obtained a Master's degree in Microbiology (MD) between 1996 and 1999.

Expanding their expertise beyond medicine, Dr. Malvankar enrolled at the Institute Of Health Care Administration in Chennai. Here, they pursued an Advanced Diploma in Hospital Administration, specializing in Hospital and Health Care Facilities Administration/Management, which they obtained from 2000 to 2002.

In 2006, Dr. Malvankar further augmented their qualifications by completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Research from Catalyst Clinical Services (P) Ltd, emphasizing Clinical Research.
