Poornima F. has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Poornima is currently working as the Chief Product Officer at Rival since 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Vice President of Products at Persefoni from 2021 to 2022, where they played a crucial role in scaling the product capabilities and department of a ClimateTech AI startup. Poornima also worked at Tableau Software in 2021 as the Director of Product Management, where they launched a new product pillar and developed a data governance strategy.

From 2017 to 2021, Poornima was a part of Workday, where they held the position of Head/Lead, ML Product Management for Applications. Poornima led the machine learning product management team, delivering features to millions of Workday users and driving product strategy across the portfolio. Additionally, they led the integration and development of a Spreadsheet product for the newly acquired Worksheets.

Prior to Workday, Poornima worked at Alteryx as the Director of Strategic Initiatives, Products from 2014 to 2017. Poornima helped scale the product function and launched products in new markets, significantly contributing to the company's growth. Poornima also worked in product management at Intelius and started their career as an NLP Intern at Janya.

Before transitioning into the tech industry, Poornima gained experience as an NLP Software Developer/Research Assistant at the University at Buffalo. Poornima developed software for text analysis and participated in a large-scale database project. Poornima also served as an Instructor for language analysis during their time at the university.

Poornima F. holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Linguistics from the University at Buffalo. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from Carlow University, with minors in International Business and Spanish. In addition to their degrees, Poornima has obtained several certifications, including Nimble Leadership from MIT Sloan Executive Education in 2021, PMC-IV from Pragmatic Marketing in 2015, Product Management from UC Berkeley in 2013, and ASA 101 Basic Keelboat Sailing Standard from the American Sailing Association in 2012.
