Paul Sheeran

Paul Sheeran currently serves as the Director of R&D at RIVANNA, a position held since October 2021, and has previously held roles such as Staff Ultrasound Systems Engineer, Ultrasound Engineering Manager, and Senior Ultrasound Systems Engineer. Prior to RIVANNA, Paul worked at Philips as a Systems Design Engineer and simultaneously held an adjunct Assistant Professor position at Oregon Health and Science University. Earlier experience includes serving as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and completing graduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where Paul earned a PhD in Biomedical Engineering. Paul also has a background in electrical and computer engineering, having received a dual bachelor's degree from North Carolina State University. Additional roles include Center Director at Mathnasium and a co-op position at Sony-Ericsson. The primary focus of Paul's research involves ultrasound imaging aimed at enhancing diagnosis and treatment of cancers and vascular diseases.
