Deborah Baker

Director of Development at Riverfront Recapture

Deborah Baker has been working in the field of development and fundraising for over 20 years. Deborah began their career at the University of Hartford, where they held various positions including Director of Annual Giving, Director of The Associates, and Development Director for University Libraries and the College of Engineering, Technology and Architecture. In 2006, they transitioned to World Learning/SIT Study Abroad, where they served as Regional Director of Philanthropy until 2008.

In 2008, Deborah took on the role of Senior Director of Institutional Advancement at Elms College. In this position, they oversaw annual giving and constituent relations managers, and was involved with major and planned giving and special projects within development. Deborah also worked collaboratively with Marketing on initiatives such as the Elms College magazine and e-newsletter. Deborah was actively engaged with the college's Board of Trustees, Institutional Advancement Committee, and Alumni Board, and served on the President's Cabinet and NEASC self-study committee.

In September 2011, Deborah left Elms College to become the Director of Development at Riverfront Recapture. In this role, they are responsible for leading the organization's fundraising efforts to support its mission of creating and enhancing parks along the Connecticut River.

Deborah Baker has a bachelor's degree in organizational communication from the University of Hartford.
