Namitha Liyanage

Namitha Liyanage is a highly skilled engineer with extensive experience in quantum error correction and digital design. Currently serving as a Staff Quantum Error Correction Engineer at Riverlane since June 2025, Liyanage previously engaged as a Graduate Research Assistant at Yale University from August 2020 to May 2025. During a brief tenure at Qblox in 2023, Liyanage implemented FPGA-based quantum error correction algorithms. Prior experience includes roles as a Graduate Research Assistant at Rice University and a Software Engineering Intern at Google. Liyanage has demonstrated leadership in engineering teams at Paraqum Technologies, focusing on HEVC encoders, and applied machine learning algorithms during consultancy work at Wave Computing. Liyanage's strong academic background includes completing multiple degrees in computer science and engineering from Yale University and Rice University, along with an Honours Degree from the University of Moratuwa.
