Tom Hartley

Tom Hartley is a product designer currently working at Riverlane. Tom has previous experience working as a software designer and design engineer. In their current role, they are responsible for designing and implementing a new toolkit for distributed manufacturing in the aid sector. This toolkit will be launched in partnership with the Humanitarian Making community and will include tools such as a 3D Printing Assessment framework, a Social Sustainability Toolkit and new training materials for local manufacturing.

Tom Hartley began their educational career at Westminster School. Tom then attended Imperial College London, where they earned a Master of Science in Innovation Design Engineering. Tom also earned a Master of Arts in Innovation Design Engineering from the Royal College of Art. Finally, they earned a Master of Engineering in Electronic and Information Engineering from Imperial College London.
