EPIC Applications Coordinator at Riverside Healthcare

Kristy Verthein has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Kristy started their career at Osco Drug in 2002 as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, where they worked until 2014. In 2001, they joined Aunt Martha's Youth Service Center as a Hospital Billing & Family Planning Specialist, responsible for billing and coding services. Kristy stayed with Aunt Martha's until 2015. In 2013, Kristy interned with Riverside Medical Center as a Patient Financial Services intern, where they assisted with various tasks related to patient financial services. Since 2015, Kristy has been working at Riverside Healthcare. Kristy started as a Medicaid Denials Analyst, and then moved on to become an Applications & Reimbursement Manager. Currently, they hold the position of Patient Financial Services Coordinator at Riverside Healthcare.

Kristy Verthein completed a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration from Governors State University from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they obtained an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree from Prairie State College from 2002 to 2010. Kristy also received a Diploma from Rich South in 2002.

Kristy went on to pursue a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus on Health Services Administration at Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University from 2014 to 2017.

In terms of certifications, Kristy obtained the Certified Professional Coder credential from the AAPC in September 2010. Kristy also became a Certified Pharmacy Technician through the PTCB in July 2002. Additionally, they hold the Certified Revenue Cycle Representative certification from HFMA, which was obtained in June 2017. Kristy further enhanced their skills by completing various leadership and communication programs, including the Riverside Leadership Excellence Certificate Program from Kankakee Community College in March 2019 and multiple other certificates in 2018.
