Epic Clinical Training Manager at Riverside Healthcare

Sara Meyer has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Sara started their career as a Mental Health Technician at Riverside Healthcare in 2003 and worked in that role until 2012. During this time, they also served as a Medical Laboratory Technology Tutor at Kankakee Community College from 2012 to 2014.

In 2011, Sara transitioned to the field of healthcare by becoming a Medical Laboratory Technician at Riverside Healthcare. In this role, they worked on the midnight shift and had responsibilities in various areas such as blood bank, chemistry/immunology, coagulation, hematology, microbiology, and urinalysis. Sara also served as a member of the quality committee and handled midnight shift scheduling duties. Sara held this position until 2014.

Following their experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician, Sara joined the Epic team at Riverside Healthcare to prepare for the organization's transition to the Epic electronic medical record system. As the Principal Trainer for Epic, they designed and implemented training for the lab staff and contributed to various aspects of the build. After the go-live, they provided end-user support and continued to train new hires and work on optimization projects. Sara held this role from 2014 until the present.

In addition to their work with Epic, Sara also had a role as a Lean Educator at Riverside Healthcare from 2016 to 2021. In this position, they trained individuals and departments in Lean Methodology to promote workflow improvement.

Overall, Sara Meyer has a strong background in healthcare, specifically in the areas of mental health, medical laboratory technology, and Epic training. Sara has demonstrated expertise in training, implementation, and support of electronic medical record systems.

Sara Meyer obtained their Master's of Science in Higher Education with a concentration in Adult Education from Capella University in 2021. Prior to that, they earned an Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from Kankakee Community College, which they completed between 2009 and 2011. Sara'seducational journey started at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biology, General between 2000 and 2003.
