Laurie Philbin

Laurie Philbin has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Laurie started their career as a Therapeutic Recreation Aide at the Connecticut Department of Child and Youth Services in 1987. Laurie then moved on to become an Accounting Supervisor at EG&G Technical Services from 1988 to 1990, where they handled general accounting duties for two divisions of a Fortune 300 company. Laurie then worked at ABB as an Accounting Supervisor from 1990 to 1997, managing financial reporting and tax preparation for a $32 million division. Afterward, they joined the Diocese of Springfield as an Administrator, overseeing cemetery and financial management for seven Diocesan cemeteries from 2018 to 2019. Laurie later joined St. Mary Parish in 2019 as the Director of Religious Education, where they internally transferred from Diocesan Cemeteries. In this role, they directed, planned, and scheduled the weekly Faith Formation program for 400 youth and also served as the Camp Director for the Parish summer camp. Currently, they serve as the Director of Finance at Riverside Industries from 2023 onwards.

Laurie Philbin obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Management - Accounting from Babson College, which they attended from 1985 to 1988. Following that, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Accounting and Business/Management at the University of Hartford, where they studied from 1990 to 1992. Additionally, Laurie Philbin obtained a certification as an ACA Certified Camp Director from the American Camp Association in May 2021.
