Leann Iacuone

Leann Iacuone, Ph.D., MAT, ATC has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Currently, they are the Principal at Martin Luther King High School in Riverside Unified School District. Prior to this, they worked as the Assistant Principal of College & Career readiness and Assistant Principal at Martin Luther King High School.

Before joining the Riverside Unified School District, Leann served as an Assistant Principal at John W. North High School, where they provided professional development and support for the implementation of the Common Core Science Standards and other school-based initiatives.

Leann also worked as the Coordinator of Science, Health, and Physical Education at School District 5 of Lexington and Richland Counties. In this role, Leann provided leadership and support to administrators and teachers in 11 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, 1 Center for Advanced Technical Studies, and 4 high schools.

Leann's experience also includes being the Executive Director of the Joe R. Adair Outdoor Education Center and working in various roles at Laurens County School District 55, including Induction and Mentoring Coach, District Science Coordinator for Grades 6-12, Science Teacher, and Associate Athletic Trainer.

Additionally, they held a position as an Instructor for the Program of Alternative Certification for Educators at the South Carolina State Department of Education, where they organized and maintained program materials, implemented the curriculum, and evaluated participants' progress.

Leann Iacuone, Ph.D., MAT, ATC completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Science from the University of South Carolina in 1997. Leann then pursued a Master of Arts in Teaching degree with a focus on Science at Furman University from 1997 to 1999. In 2001, they enrolled at Clemson University, where they earned their Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction in 2015.
