The World Bank has approved a $500 million loan for the construction of a new bridge over the River Nile in Egypt. The bridge, which will span 1.6 kilometers, will connect the cities of Luxor and Aswan and is expected to reduce travel time between the two cities from four hours to just 20 minutes. The bridge is part of the government's plan to improve transportation infrastructure in the country. The project is expected to create thousands of jobs, boost tourism, and improve connectivity between the two cities. The loan is part of the World Bank's $2.2 billion package for Egypt, which includes investments in energy, health, and education.
