Mary Beth Thacher

As Education Coordinator for Riverview’s Middle and High School program, Mary Beth is responsible for the daily schedule of students, ensuring they are placed accurately in classes, as well as researching materials and assessments, and developing curriculum. In addition, she mentors new teachers, helps to coordinate thematic trips and activities for all teams and leads the Human Sexuality program for the School.

Mary Beth earned a BS from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania and has continued her education through studies in leadership, special education and human sexuality. Since 1978, Mary Beth has been actively involved in the education field, teaching in New Jersey before moving to Massachusetts. She arrived at Riverview in the fall 1982, beginning her tenure as the recreational therapist. Mary Beth has been the Head Teacher on all middle and high school teams, and for 15 summers she and her husband were Program Directors for the YMCA of Cape Cod summer day camp program at Camp Lyndon.

Mary Beth resides in Sagamore Beach, has 5 adult children and 8 grandchildren.
