Krishnakumar M Ravikumar

Krishnakumar M Ravikumar has an extensive background in data science and research. Krishnakumar currently holds the position of VP Data Science at Riviera Partners, where they have been since December 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of Data Science at Riviera Partners from May 2021 to December 2022, and as a Lead Data Scientist from January 2019 to April 2021. Before joining Riviera Partners, Krishnakumar was a Data Scientist at Esurance from September 2016 to December 2018. In this role, they utilized machine learning models to reduce third-party report costs and developed gradient boosting tree-based models to predict vehicle characteristics. Krishnakumar also has experience as a Chief Scientist at Protein Architects Inc., where they co-founded the startup company and conducted customer interviews to identify and validate customer-market fit for synthetic protein-based alternatives to antibodies. Prior to this, Krishnakumar worked as a Post Doctoral Scholar at the University of California, Davis and Case Western Reserve University, where they conducted bio-molecular simulations, performed protein-protein interaction studies, and implemented machine learning algorithms. Krishnakumar began their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at Texas A&M University, where they developed visualization schemes for analyzing water properties around proteins and managed computational clusters.

Krishnakumar M Ravikumar earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Madras, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering at Texas A&M University, from 2005 to 2008. Krishnakumar then continued their education at Texas A&M University and completed a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from 2008 to 2011.
