Gary Fields has a national practice in health care and corporate law. He furnishes services on transactional and regulatory matters for businesses, physician practices, practice management companies, other public and private health care companies, and medical systems. Gary advises clients regarding joint ventures, the acquisition and disposition of businesses and professional health care practices, managed care contracting and reimbursement issues, executive compensation and employment issues, equipment financing, real estate leasing, and health care regulation, including fraud and abuse concerns, privacy issues and corporate compliance.
Gary has lectured and written nationally on health law issues, including federal and state health care fraud and abuse regulation, corporate compliance programs, health information and technologies, and integrated delivery systems. He chaired conferences for the New York State Bar Association, Medicare Compliance Alert, Aspen Publications and the Medical Society of the State of New York. He is a member of the State Bar of California, the New York State Bar Association and its Health Law Section (serving on managed care and health care provider subcommittees), and the American Health Lawyers Association.
Prior to joining the firm, Gary led his own law firm since 1998. Before that, he served as SVP and General Counsel of a publicly traded company that operated diagnostic imaging facilities in numerous states. Earlier, he headed the health law group of an 80-attorney firm in New York City.
Gary has served as an arbitrator, having received training through the American Health Lawyers Association. He has also served as an expert witness on healthcare related cases.
