Brigit Staatsen is a senior researcher and advisor in healthy living environments at RIVM National Institute for Public Health and the Environment since January 1992. In this role, Brigit chairs the Environmental Health Task Force and the Working Group on Connection Local and Subnational Actions of WHO Europe. Additionally, Brigit served as a workpackage leader for the EU-funded INHERIT project, which aimed to evaluate and promote sustainable policymaking and practices for improved health and well-being from 2017 to 2020. Prior to RIVM, Brigit held the position of Secretary at Gezondheidsraad from July 1988 to December 1991, where responsibilities included preparing and writing literature evaluations and scientific advice in the fields of toxicology, epidemiology, and medical environmental science. Brigit completed a degree in Medical Biology at Utrecht University (1980-1988) and attended The College of Wooster (1978-1979) and Elzendaal College (1972-1978).
