Reinskje Talhout is a senior scientist at the National Institute of Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) since September 2004, specializing in tobacco, drugs, and alcohol addiction, with a focus on consumer appeal and risk perception. Talhout also serves as the Head of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Tobacco Control and Regulation and coordinates the Assessment and Monitoring of new drugs (CAM). Prior to these roles, Talhout was a board member of the Vereniging voor Filosofische Praktijk from 2008 to November 2015 and pursued studies in philosophy at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen from 2003 to 2004, following a PhD program at the same university from 1998 to 2003. Education was also obtained from RSG Magister Alvinus in Sneek and philosophical associations.
