Sipke Dijkstra is a highly experienced scientific researcher with a background in neurobiology and medical biology. Currently serving at the RIVM National Institute for Public Health and the Environment since November 2021, Sipke has held notable positions such as Research Leader and Principal Scientist at Charles River Laboratories from January 2016 to July 2021. Prior engagements include leadership roles at BioFocus and Galapagos, as well as significant academic contributions as a postdoc at VU University Medical Center, focusing on the role of tetraspanin proteins in multiple sclerosis.
