Sytske Weidema

Sytske Weidema is a project manager and junior curator in training at RKD - Nederlands Instituut voor Kunstgeschiedenis since September 2008, overseeing The Rembrandt Database. Previous experience includes serving as a research assistant at Iris & B. Gerald Cantor Center for Visual Arts at Stanford University, conducting research on Netherlandish and Dutch paintings. Sytske Weidema has also undertaken independent research on Jan Gossart for The Metropolitan Museum of Art, with findings to be published, and has held roles as a research fellow focused on Netherlandish and German painting. Other positions include guiding at Catharijneconvent and Groninger Museum, project associate for RKDtechnical, and teaching art history courses at the Vrije Academie voor Kunsthistorisch Onderwijs. Sytske Weidema holds a Master's degree in Art History from the University of Groningen, specializing in early Netherlandish paintings and technical studies.
