Michael Lee

Michael Lee is a Manufacturing Optical Engineer at RKI Instruments, Inc. since May 2022, focused on the development and support of handheld and drone-portable Optical Spectrometers utilizing Herriott Cells and precision micro-scale manufacturing. From June 2008 to January 2024, Michael served as the Director of Communications at FanimeCon, overseeing marketing, branding, outreach, and publication projects for numerous teams. Prior experiences include roles such as Communications Specialist, Guest Relations Coordinator, and Publications Manager at FanimeCon, and Print Manager at San Jose State University. Michael also worked as a Graduate Student Researcher in Photonics/Metrology and conducted undergraduate research at UC Merced, developing Ytterbium-Ion based Laser Amplifiers. Academic credentials include a B.S. in Physics from the University of California, Merced, and completion of graduate-level coursework in Optics/Optical Sciences at San Jose State University.
