Alastair Barter

Alastair Barter is an experienced data protection professional currently serving as the Data Protection Manager and previously as a Data Protection and Financial Crime Consultant at Royal London since January 2017. Prior to this, Alastair held the position of Senior Policy Officer at the Information Commissioner's Office from July 2010 to January 2017, focusing on data protection consultancy and policy development with a strong emphasis on private sector stakeholder engagement. In 2016, Alastair also worked as a Secondee - Data Protection Subject Matter Expert for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, contributing expertise to the Cyber Security Regulation and Incentives Review. Alastair earned a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from Brunel University London from 1997 to 2000.
