Martin Ettles

Martin Ettles is an experienced risk management professional with a strong background in various senior roles across prominent financial institutions. Currently serving as a Non-Executive Director and Audit and Risk Committee Member at Registers of Scotland and as Group Risk Director on a contract basis at Royal London, Martin previously held the position of Chief Risk Officer at Nucleus Financial from March 2020 to December 2023. Prior to that, Martin worked at Standard Life UK, where responsibilities included Conduct and Compliance Director, Programme Director for the Annuity Review Programme, and Head of Risk. An actuarial professional, Martin has been involved in significant projects like the demutualisation of Standard Life and contributed to various risk management initiatives globally. Academically, Martin holds a First Class Honours degree in Mathematics and Statistics from The University of Edinburgh and has attained multiple qualifications from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, including being a Fellow and earning certificates in Climate Risk and Sustainability and Data Science.
