Benjamin Anderson

Benjamin Anderson began their career in 2018 as the Environmental Health & Safety Hazardous Waste Manager at Colorado School of Mines. In this role, they directly supported the Environmental Health and Safety Department through the research, coordination, and completion of tasks associated with the collection of regulated waste from all campus laboratories. Their scope of responsibilities included implementation of COVID-19 safety measures, designing and testing of different hand sanitizer alternatives, redrafting of heavy oil waste stream process policies, scanning of radioactive labs for potential hot spots, performing due diligence, inspections, and tests for determining unknown waste container contents, verifying, organizing, and maintaining stocks of waste management supplies, removal and relocation of chemical lab projects and demonstrations, supporting Chemical Safety Officer on chemical inventory projects, and autonomous immediate spill response mitigation and treatment. In 2022, Benjamin Anderson began working as a Project Specialist at RMC Pharmaceutical Solutions.

Benjamin Anderson has an education history that includes a degree in Chemical Engineering with a Biological Engineering Track from the Colorado School of Mines (2018-2021) and a non-declared study at Arizona State University in Biology and Computer Science (2019). Benjamin has also obtained certifications including an Engineering in Training (EIT) from the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) in 2022, as well as OSHA General Industry 30-hour and OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour certifications from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
