Karen Matthews is an experienced communication and engagement professional currently serving as Associate Director of Planning & Engagement at RMIT Europe since September 2015. Matthews has held various leadership roles at RMIT Europe, including Senior Manager of Engagement & Communications, where strategic communications campaigns were managed to enhance RMIT's global reputation. Additionally, Matthews contributes to the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) as a Board Director and has held positions including Chair of the EMENA Region Board. Past experience includes roles in RMIT University Vietnam, the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Monadelphous, among others. Matthews holds a Bachelor of Business in Public Relations and a Bachelor of Journalism from QUT, along with additional education from Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
