Nilesh Shome

Nilesh Shome has over three decades of experience in the field of risk modeling and assessment. Nilesh began their career as a Scientific Officer at Nuclear Power Corporation, where they worked on Probabilistic Risk Assessment for reactor buildings. Nilesh then moved to EQECAT, Inc., where they managed the development of earthquake and winter-storm models for various regions. At AIR Worldwide, they served as a Project Manager, leading the development of vulnerability functions for US earthquakes. Currently, they are the Vice President at RMS, overseeing the development of global earthquake products and leading a team of PhDs and Post-docs in science and engineering. Throughout their career, Nilesh has demonstrated expertise in developing vulnerability functions for hurricanes, earthquakes, and terrorism models, as well as updating global earthquake products and leading the development of simulation frameworks.

Nilesh Shome obtained a Doctorate in Civil Engineering from Stanford University in the years 1995-1999. Nilesh also received a certification in Leading Innovative Change from UC Berkeley Center for Executive Education in 2014.
