Summer Programs Lead Archeologist at RMSC

Christian Matagne is an experienced professional with a diverse background spanning security, archaeology, and postal services. Currently serving as the Summer Programs Lead Archeologist and Museum Curator Intern at the Rochester Museum & Science Center since April 2016, Christian specializes in osteological analysis, curation, and documentation of prehistoric artifacts. Concurrently, Christian has worked as a Mail Handler at the United States Postal Service since April 2014, and as a Security Supervisor at Command Security Corporation since July 2010, overseeing security operations for multiple properties. Previous experience includes roles as a Security Officer at the University of Rochester and a Security Guard at Sabin Metal Corporation. Early career experience in the US Navy encompassed roles as a Sonar Technician and Master-at-Arms. Christian holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology (Archaeology) from Buffalo State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in History from SUNY Brockport, complemented by an Associate of Science in History from Monroe Community College and military-related certification as a Sonar Technician.
