Matt Verner

Senior Project Lead at RND Group

Matt Verner has extensive work experience spanning several companies and roles. Matt began their career in 1981 at Bell Labs, where they served as a Senior Technical Associate, responsible for designing and implementing prototypes in the Home Communications Lab. Matt then joined Hewlett-Packard as a Customer Engineer, providing pre- and post-sales engineering support for HP commercial minicomputer systems.

In 1985, Matt returned to Bell Labs as a Senior Technical Associate, where they were responsible for hardware design, layout, performance testing, and compliance testing of Attendant Console for telephone key systems. Matt also designed and implemented software and hardware for a simulation system.

Matt joined AT&T Graphics Software Labs in 1986 as a Member of Technical Staff. Here, they developed high-speed low-level graphics software architecture for RIO, an object-oriented graphics design system. Matt also led design and implementation teams for subsequent products, including a Macintosh-based linear videotape editing system.

In 1991, Matt moved to Bell Labs as a Senior Technical Staff. In this role, they served as a Systems Architect, responsible for defining the service architecture for AT&T's Internet Telephony service. Matt led a team of Systems Engineers and designed call flows, customer care systems, billing systems, logging systems, and network management.

From 1998 to 2001, Matt worked at Tivoli Systems as a Software Development Manager. Matt led a cross-site development team responsible for Java-based security and directory components of a new generation Tivoli framework. Matt also took over and successfully completed a troubled User Repository project.

Since 2001, Matt has been associated with The RND Group and its division Gener8 LLC. Matt initially joined as a Senior Project Lead and later took on the role of Senior Engineer - Practice Leader. In this position, they served as the software project manager and chief software architect for the design and development of command and control software for molecular diagnostic analyzers. Additionally, they acted as the IT manager for The RND Group.

Throughout their career, Matt has demonstrated strong technical leadership and expertise in software development, architecture, project management, and team management.

Matt Verner received their Bachelor of Science in Electronics, Programming from DeVry Institute of Technology between 1978 and 1981. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science in Computer Science at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis from 1985 to 1986. In addition to their formal education, they hold a certification as a Certified Scrum Master from the Scrum Alliance.
