Preston Wetzel

Preston Wetzel started their work experience as a Wind Technician at Avangrid Renewables in September 2009. In this role, they led safety meetings on site, supervised projects with contractors, and provided safety training for site employees. Preston later became a Regional Environmental Health and Safety Specialist at Avangrid Renewables in October 2011, and then transitioned to become a Plant Manager in January 2019. In June 2019, Wetzel joined First Solar as an EHS Engineer III and remained there until April 2021. Preston then joined NovaSource Power Services in April 2021 as an EHS Engineer III. Wetzel's most recent position is Director - EHS & Training at RNWBL, starting in May 2022.

Preston Wetzel attended Minnesota State University Moorhead from 2012 to 2017, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Management and Supervision. Prior to that, they attended North Dakota State College of Science from 2007 to 2009. At NDSU, they earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Electrical Technology, focusing on becoming an electrician. In addition to their formal education, Preston Wetzel also obtained a certification as a Certified Occupational Safety Specialist from the United Safety Council in December 2019.
