Karen Gregory Hunt is an experienced media professional currently serving as Senior Producer for Morning Report at RNZ since January 2023. Previously, Karen held the role of Senior Advisor Media at the Ministry of Social Development for six months in 2021, focusing on media responses and stakeholder engagement. Prior experience includes Communications Officer at E tū, where responsibilities involved media liaison and campaign planning, and a long tenure at Radio New Zealand, progressing from Senior Broadcast Journalist to Chief Reporter. Earlier roles included Senior Broadcasting Journalist and Acting Editor at CTV, and Journalist and Editor for the Hotel and Hospital Workers Union. Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Art History and a Post-graduate Diploma in Journalism from the University of Canterbury.
