Shannon Haunui-Thompson is an experienced media professional with a focus on Māori journalism and strategy. Currently serving as Tumu Māori at RNZ since August 2015, Shannon has held multiple roles including Māori News Editor and RNZ Māori Strategy Manager. Prior experience includes working as a Producer for Te Kāea at Māori Television from May 2011 to August 2015 and producing for MediaWorks NZ. Shannon's career began at TV3 Network Limited, where notable positions included Line Producer and Production Manager for programs such as Campbell Live. A graduate of AUT University with a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies, Shannon's educational background includes secondary schooling at Auckland Girls Grammar.
