Tanya Paquet

Tanya Paquet is a seasoned computational medicinal chemist currently employed at Ro5 since August 2022. Prior experience includes serving as a senior data scientist and data scientist at EXPLORE-AI from January 2020 to July 2022, as well as a BCX/Telkom intern at Explore Data Science Academy in 2019, where innovative data science solutions were developed. Tanya has a notable background in medicinal chemistry, having worked as a research officer and postdoctoral research fellow at the Drug Discovery and Development Centre (H3D) at the University of Cape Town from 2012 to 2018. Additional roles include internships at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research and Stellenbosch University, along with volunteer work in life skills development. Educational qualifications comprise a PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from the University of Cambridge, an MSc in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Cape Town, and a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from the University of Pretoria, alongside a BSc in Biochemistry.
