Janelle Octavia Silva is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in community relations, communications, and event management. Currently serving as the Director of Community Relations and previously as the Communications and Special Events Manager for the City of Wood Dale, Janelle collaborates with various city departments to enhance public safety and enjoyment. As a Certified Running Coach with the Road Runners Club of America and a Fitness Instructor at Fitness Formula Clubs, Janelle is dedicated to fostering community wellness. Previous roles include serving as Staff Liaison for the Consumer Affairs Commission in Skokie, managing the Skokie Farmers’ Market, and working as an Administrative Assistant in municipal government. Janelle holds a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from Northeastern Illinois University and an Associate's degree from Oakton College.

Founded in 1958, the Road Runners Club of America is the oldest and largest national association of running clubs, running events, and runners dedicated to promoting running as a competitive sport and as healthy exercise. The RRCA’s mission is to represent and promote the common interests of its member clubs, events, and individual runners through education, leadership, programs and other services.
