Director of Road Safety, Research & Driver Education at Road Safety Authority

The road safety, driver education, and research directorate combine the key roles of raising awareness, education, and research to inform and impart knowledge and appropriate skills to road users as they move through life. The key objectives are to ensure that all road users are well-informed and have the necessary skills to remain safe on the roads and that the interventions are evidence-based and research-led. The directorate assists and works with all stakeholders in the preparation and coordination of the government’s Road Safety Strategy. It is also responsible for the regulation of driving instruction in Ireland as well as oversight and management of Driver CPC for professional drivers.
