Matt Edgar (FCMA, CGMA)

Matt Edgar has an extensive work experience in finance, with a focus on commercial finance and management accounting. Matt started their career at Balfour Beatty Rail, where they gained a strong foundation in finance. Matt then joined Marston's PLC, where they held various roles including Assistant Management Accountant, Production & Distribution Accountant, Free Trade Accountant, and Commercial Finance Accountant. Matt also worked at UTL - a Unipart Group Company as a Finance Business Partner, providing financial support to the Operations team. Currently, they are the Director of Finance at Roadchef, where they have held positions such as Head of Management Accounts, Head of Commercial Finance, and Director of Finance. Throughout their career, Matt has demonstrated strong leadership skills and expertise in financial planning, analysis, and forecasting.

Matt Edgar (FCMA, CGMA) completed their education with the following chronological history:

From 2001 to 2004, they attended the University of Derby, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Business Studies.

Following that, from 2005 to 2009, they enrolled at The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and became an Associate member in the field of study of CIMA.

In terms of additional certifications, Matt achieved the CIMA Associate Member designation in March 2009 through CIMA. More recently, they obtained the CIMA Fellowship from CIMA in February 2021.
