Amanda Durfee has a wealth of experience in software development. Amanda began their career in 2010 as a Back Office Assistant at TechHouse, where they handled bank reconciliation and managed accounts receivable, as well as executing data entry and cleansing in Microsoft Dynamics Sales. In 2018, they were promoted to Software Engineer at TechHouse, where they engineered and implemented a computer vision training script in Python via Azure's Cognitive Services to assess similarities between lab samples. Amanda also developed a VBA application in Excel, connecting SQL Server with ADODB to create a formatted, parameter-driven, and dynamic rolling 13-month P&L report. Additionally, Amanda generated GDPR-compliance guidelines for customer security assessments and led a team to create a website in Microsoft’s Portal (HTML/CSS). In 2019, they took a Course Assistant position at Boston University, where they supported students’ conceptual understanding with homework assignments and exam reviews, and emphasized in-class material via weekly labs and Piazza. Finally, in 2020, Amanda began working as a Software Developer at General Motors.
