Xianqiao Tong is the Co-Founder and CEO of Roadstar.ai, a company that specializes in autonomous driving technologies. Prior to Roadstar.ai, Tong worked as a Tech Lead for Localization & Mapping at Baidu, Inc. from August 2016 to March 2017. During their time at Baidu, Tong was responsible for localization, mapping and perception for level4 autonomous driving technologies.

Before Baidu, Tong worked as a Special Project Group member at Apple from May 2015 to August 2016. While at Apple, Tong worked on undisclosed special projects. Prior to Apple, Tong worked as a Senior R&D Software Engineer at NVIDIA from January 2014 to May 2015. At NVIDIA, Tong worked on computer vision applications for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving, focusing on Visual Odometry (VO), Structure from Motion (SfM), Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), 3D reconstruction and sensor fusion.

Tong’s internships include stints at General Electric Global Research from May 2013 to August 2013, Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories from May 2012 to August 2012, and Intuitive Surgical from January 2012 to May 2012.

Xianqiao Tong completed their undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech in the field of Robotics. Xianqiao then went on to earn their PhD in the same field from the school.
