Mia Melton has extensive experience in healthcare roles, primarily focused on patient account management and support. Currently serving as a Patient Account Representative at Roanoke Chowan Community Health Center since 2019, Mia's responsibilities include verifying insurance, processing sliding fee applications, and coordinating patient appointments. Previously, Mia worked as a Patient Navigator, assisting patients with colorectal cancer screenings and test results. Prior experience includes positions at Duke University Health System as a Patient Services Associate and at Synapse Analytical Labs/Carolina Behavioral Care, where roles spanned Toxicology Lab Supervisor and Medical Assistant. Earlier in Mia's career, roles at Onsite Health, Transitions Healthcare, and Albemarle Family Practice further contributed to a solid foundation in patient care, record management, and medical assistance. Mia's educational background includes a degree in Medical Assisting from the College of The Albemarle and ongoing education at the University of Mount Olive.

As a community health center, we make health care affordable and accessible for the residents of Hertford, Bertie, Gates, Northampton and Washington counties. With five primary care locations–including pediatric, and two in-house pharmacy locations -we are committed to providing the best health care in the region. At RCCHC, we believe all people should have ready access to the full range of quality primary, preventive, enabling and supplemental medical health care services, including pediatrics, dental care, mental health care and substance abuse services, either directly on-site or through established arrangements, regardless of ability to pay. Care is provided in a medical home setting. Roanoke Chowan Community Health Center is one of many Federally Qualified Health Centers across the country. That means we offer comprehensive primary care services to all persons, regardless of the person’s ability to pay. Additionally we offer a sliding fee discount program for those who do not have health insurance.
