Richard Destler has over a decade of experience in information technology and woodworking. Currently serving as an Information Technology Assistant at Roanoke Electric Cooperative since 2013, Richard supports computer and printer maintenance while providing software assistance, following a previous role at Roanoke Chowan Community College as a College Work-Study where responsibilities included maintaining computers and Microsoft Office support. Earlier experience includes cabinetmaking at Turkey Creek Wood Shop and operating a custom cabinet shop, New Southern Wood Shoppe, which Richard owned from 1995 to 2007. Richard holds an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in Computer Information Technology from Roanoke Chowan Community College.
