Karen H. Darby

Karen H. Darby is an experienced educator and bilingual professional with a diverse background in language instruction and interpretation. Currently serving as a High School Spanish Teacher at Roanoke County Schools since November 2021, Karen has also been a Spanish/English Interpreter with Arara Language Solutions since March 2015. With a strong focus on personalized education, Karen has offered tutoring services through Darby Tutoring since August 2012 and has extensive online teaching experience with Berlitz from June 2015 to December 2021. Previous roles include bilingual mortgage specialist positions at New American Mortgage and Crown Mortgage LLC, a marketing strategist for Foward/Adelante Bilingual Business Journal, and work as a bilingual legal editor at LexisNexis. Karen holds a B.A. in Spanish from Guilford College and a Master of Divinity from Claremont School of Theology, specializing in urban ministry.
