Jason Beutel

CEO at Robert Bird Group

Jason graduated from Queensland University of Technology in 1994 and began working with Robert Bird Group in January 1995. During his time within RBG, from Graduate Engineer to being appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2010, Jason has also held the roles of Queensland General Manager in 2004, Australia Structures Manager in 2006, and UK and Middle East Managing Director in 2009, which saw him relocate to London for 4-years with his wife and three children.

During his time delivering projects, Jason has worked on a variety of building projects in Australia, South-East Asia, Middle East and the United Kingdom including high-rise structures, retail and mixed-use developments, public building infrastructure and industrial developments. Jason has also worked on many construction engineering projects including crane installations and temporary works.

Jason’s technical experience and expertise, his approach with clients, working with collaborative teams and a focus on design which could be delivered efficiently and economically, he recognised that fundamental to this was developing and maintaining a “real client relationship” based upon understanding their requirements and needs, and delivering. These learnings and skills which were transferred across to his teams and his approach to clients and business were fundamental to his success as he took on roles with increasing responsibility and global reach.

Jason’s business and people skills were developed and tested during the Global Financial Crisis, a period that the Group was able to navigate, establish its offshore operations then successfully leverage upon these to drive the next phase of the Australian and New Zealand business’s growth and development as the UK and Middle East continued to prosper and grow. Asia and the Americas are RBG’s next geographical regions for incubation and development.

Jason is passionate about people, about building careers as well as complex structures and Infrastructure and is most proud of the RBG Team and its culture which continues to grow and develop through its excellent people and its “Design for Delivery” approach and philosophy. Jason considers his most important attribute as being empathy and his positive outlook on life and business. Outside of work he loves camping, fishing and getting beyond the reach of technology with family and friends.
